The company historically goes back to 1876 to the Chenet Insurance Agency which was founded by Louis Martin Chenet. George E. Martin joined the firm in 1935 and later helped form the partnership of Martin-Lebreton Insurance Agency. In 1982 Martin Insurance Agency Incorporated was formed. It is a family owned business as it has been through the years.
The agency is a member of the Independent Agents Associations of Louisiana, PIAL, National Association of Insurance for Women, Louisiana Surplus Lines Association, as well as the National Association of Casualty and Surety Agents.
